Thank You! We couldn’t have done it without you.

Thank you to the community for supporting the 2018 referendum and for your patience as we navigated the construction process over the last 15 months. Thank you to those that volunteered their time to participate on the Citizen Task Force and Yes GPD groups. Thank you to our partners the Village of Glenview, NorthShore Glenbrook Hospital, District 225 and the Glenview Park Foundation for your support. Thank you to the very talented contractors who worked diligently to make our community’s vision a reality: Williams Architects, W.B. Olson, Inc. and the AT Group. Also, thank you to our contributing partners on the ice and in the facility the Glenview Stars Hockey Association, Offensive Zone Pro Shop and NorthBranch.

With proper pre-registration and safety protocols, we are excited for the community to experience the renovated facility and get back on our ice!  With 2 NHL Rinks and 1 Studio Rink, we have been able to improve all aspects of our programming and skating schedules, thinking about all disciplines and levels of skating.

Your Skating Journey Begins Here

As a premier coaching center, our highly qualified staff and progressive programming allows skaters to confidently advance to more specialized areas of skating and league play.

Whether your goal is to exercise, learn a new skill or discover the exciting world of competitive figure skating, we have the program for you! The new Glenview Skating Academy is a Learn to Skate USA program and follows the curriculum as outlined by United States Figure Skating. We teach skating to all ages and abilities from the first steps on the ice to advanced figure skating jumps, spins and balance moves.

From the first time your child puts on a pair of skates and steps on the ice to actually playing on a team in a league, we will coach them every stride of the way. Our hockey instructors don’t just teach the skills needed to play the game of hockey, they are also committed to teaching

Facility and Program Safety Guidelines

The facility opened in accordance with Phase 4 of the Restore Illinois plan and the guidelines set forth by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity.  The Revitalization Phase of the Restore Illinois public health approach to reopening the Illinois economy includes larger gathering sizes, additional businesses reopening and increased capacities. We must all continue to social distance, frequently wash our hands and cover our faces to maintain progress in overcoming COVID-19.

With our opening, additional facility guidelines have been updated to ensure the safety of all participants and spectators.  We will provide guidance on social distancing, hand washing and sanitizing, face coverings, equipment usage, class sizes, disinfecting/cleaning policies and other required customer and staff behaviors.

We are aware of the Illinois Department of Economic Opportunity and Development’s All Sports Policy on youth sports participation and we will be following these guidelines throughout our facility and programs to ensure safety for all participants and staff at the Glenview Community Ice Center. Ice skating is classified as a level 1 – low risk – activity by the new guidelines and with our class size limits and safety procedures, we can confidently provide safe figure skating programs.  Hockey is classified as a level 3 – high risk – activity by the new guidelines and we will begin this Fall running no contact practices and drills on the ice, while practicing physical distancing.
